The military has a saying; “One Team, One Fight!” We’re making that statement a reality as we team up with MMA Fighter Jason Lederfine to knock out Veteran and military suicide.
Almost a year ago to the day, Jason got in the cage and raised over $1,500 for I Will Not Be #22. We put that money to use helping military families that have suffered from fires, medical conditions, and other factors that often result in financial stress. By stepping in before the stress is overwhelming, we hope to reduce and eliminate the military suicide rate.
Jason is stepping in the cage one last time to raise awareness of our mission and to let everyone know that no matter what they’re facing, they should keep fighting. Jason is using the platform to “raise awareness about suicide prevention and what I Will Not Be #22 is doing.”
Tickets are available for $33, $43, and $53. There are also cage-side VIP Tables that seat 8 for $600 and one (1) VIP Suite that includes beer, catering, and a private bathroom for 12 for $1200. Contact V3Fights on Facebook or I Will Not Be #22 for tickets. The fight, hosted by V3Fights, will take place on November 19th at 7pm (CST) at Minglewood Hall, 1555 Madison Ave, Memphis, TN 38104. Jason was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army who served two tours overseas (Iraq in 2004 and Afghanistan in 2010). For that reason, he holds this mission near and dear to his heart. Here’s what he had to say when asked why he fights for his brothers and sisters in arms:
“I’m putting my body on the line and pushing myself to help raise money for awareness and
treatment for Veterans that think they have no one to turn to. If you’re in the Memphis area let me know if you want a ticket to the event so you can come support. If you can’t donate or attend, please share this post in hopes that someone struggling through depression see’s it and knows there are people out there to help.”
One of Jason’s brothers, Justin Patterson, is the Guest of Honor at this fight. Justin served with Jason in Iraq and Germany and has found relief from his PTS thanks in part to Jason. As of this release, Justin is planning to be present at the fight to support Jason.
As a a disabled Veteran with a 70% rating, the road to readiness for this fight has been a long, hard, uphill battle. In the true spirit of a Warrior, Jason has defeated every obstacle in his path. He is a true testament to will power and the desire to keep on going. One only needs to think about his determination if they are feeling down and they are sure to keep fighting.
About I Will Not Be #22
I Will Not Be #22 is a registered 501c(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to eliminate Veteran and military suicide. Our roots are planted in the tragic loss of a dear friend to all of our founding members. With each military member or family that we assist, we carry the memory of our dear friend Mary. We swear to fight for each and every service member so that no one has to carry the burden of war alone. We will fight with support, assistance, awareness, and education until we have knocked out Veteran and military suicide.
